Welcome to ShieldDial. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the ShieldDial mobile application (“App”), website (“Website”), and related services provided by Losi Technology (Pty) Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By installing, accessing, or using ShieldDial, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Overview of Service
ShieldDial is an Android call-control and call-screening application that helps users manage incoming calls through rules such as allowlists, blocklists, wildcard patterns, and meeting-based auto-silence. ShieldDial may also provide optional cloud backup and paid premium features through Google Play Billing.
ShieldDial is not a caller ID service and does not identify callers outside your contacts.
ShieldDial does not upload your contacts or call logs unless you enable optional backup.
2. Eligibility
You must:
- Be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction.
- Be legally able to enter into contracts.
If you use ShieldDial on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that organization.
3. License to Use the App
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use ShieldDial for personal use on Android devices you own or control.
You may not:
- Modify, reverse engineer, or decompile the App.
- Use the App for unlawful, abusive, fraudulent, or spam-related purposes.
- Copy or redistribute the App outside Google Play.
- Bypass subscription or licensing features.
Violation may result in termination of your license.
4. Subscriptions & Billing
ShieldDial offers subscription-based premium features via Google Play Billing.
4.1 Payment Processing
All payments, renewals, refunds, and cancellations are handled exclusively by Google Play. We do not collect or store your payment information.
4.2 Subscription Plans
Available plans include:
- Monthly
- Annual
30-day free trial (full functionality). Pricing may vary by region and currency.
4.3 Automatic Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel through your Google Play account settings.
4.4 Cancellation
You may cancel at any time through Google Play → Payments & Subscriptions. Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription.
4.5 Refunds
Refunds are subject to Google Play’s refund policies, not ours.
5. Cloud Backup (Optional)
ShieldDial includes an optional encrypted cloud backup feature.
- Backups are encrypted on your device before upload.
- The encryption key never leaves your device, meaning we cannot access your backup.
- You may request deletion of backups by contacting info@shielddial.com.
If you choose not to use backup, all data stays on your device and is never transmitted.
6. User Data and Privacy
Your privacy is extremely important to us.
Our data practices are described in our Privacy Policy, available at https://shielddial.com/privacy. By using the App, you agree to the terms of the Privacy Policy, including how data is stored and processed.
7. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use ShieldDial in accordance with local telecommunications laws.
- Not use the App to harass, stalk, intimidate, or defraud others.
- Not use blocklists or wildcard rules in ways that violate legal or carrier restrictions.
- Keep your device secure and updated.
- Not misuse permissions or attempt unauthorized access to our systems.
You are solely responsible for the rules and settings you configure in the App.
8. Service Availability & Limitations
ShieldDial relies on Android system APIs, permissions, manufacturer policies, and network connectivity. Therefore, we cannot guarantee:
- That all calls will be correctly screened in every situation.
- Full compatibility with all Android devices or OEM call apps.
- That third-party changes (Samsung, Xiaomi, etc.) will not impact functionality.
We may update, modify, or discontinue features as needed.
9. Intellectual Property
All trademarks, logos, branding, code, and design elements in ShieldDial are the property of Losi Technology (Pty) Ltd.
You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the App.
- Use ShieldDial trademarks without permission.
- Create derivative works based on ShieldDial.
10. Third-Party Services
ShieldDial may integrate with:
- Google Play Billing
- Google Calendar APIs
- Android Call Screening Service
These services operate under their own terms, and we are not liable for their availability or behavior.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to ShieldDial if:
- You violate these Terms.
- You misuse the App or attempt to circumvent security.
- Required permissions are denied for core functionality.
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.
Termination does not grant refunds unless Google Play policies apply.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
ShieldDial is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee:
- That the App will be error-free.
- That all unwanted calls will be blocked.
- That the App will work on every Android device.
- Continuous availability or uninterrupted service.
Your use of ShieldDial is at your own risk.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
- Loss of data.
- Missed calls or blocked calls.
- Damages from incorrect call screening.
- Injuries or damages resulting from inability to receive calls.
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the App during the previous 12 months.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, and where applicable, international consumer protection laws.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
When changes are made, we will update the “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the App indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms.
